Let the heat hit you in the face
I’m looking forward to the beach, the grass, the weather
It was a long ice age
Driving around the streets of my town
Nothing is different but it doesn’t feel the same
Ran into Evelyn at the supermarket in November
I hope I see her around again
Too much free time can melt your mind

I will stay here anyway
Even if it drives me up the wall
But it’s all right I’ll be okay
It’s better to jump off than it is to fall

Christmas comes and goes quickly
Bring on the Boxing Day blues
Still waiting for death, losing track of friends, diving deeper into debt
But I can’t seem to remove
Roots that run deep in suburban streets

I will stay here anyway
Even if it drives me up the wall
But it’s all right I’ll be okay
It’s better to jump off than it is to fall

It’s a new year in one day
And there is nothing I care to save
Sick of hoping for change
Convincing myself tomorrow will be any different to today

The sun peels a coat of paint off the back deck

Evelyn is leaving on the 15th of February
